Project Mechanical Engineer
The Project Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of mechanical systems within building projects. This role requires close collaboration with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems while adhering to project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems using industry-standard software, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineering teams to develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans, ensuring timely and within-budget project delivery.
Review and approve mechanical design calculations, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure that installations are performed according to design specifications and quality standards.
Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, present design concepts, and provide updates on project status.
Work closely with electrical and plumbing engineers to ensure integrated designs and smooth project execution.
Implement quality assurance processes, conduct inspections, and oversee testing of mechanical systems to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including design reports, project schedules, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally in the MEP sector.
Proficiency in mechanical design software.
Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
